This is a conditional expedition. Extreme heat, volcanic conditions, regional restrictions and security advice can change or cancel access with little notice. No lava, route or departure is guaranteed; final operation requires Afar partner approval and current official guidance.
Remote heat, basic camps, long transfers and limited services require resilience. Participation remains subject to a health discussion, current conditions and the expedition leader's judgement.
Accommodation is selected only after dates and priorities are clear. The confirmed proposal identifies each property, room basis and any known limitations before a booking is accepted.
Breakfast is normally included at hotels. Lunches and dinners are built around the route, dietary needs and realistic local options; the personalised quotation states exactly which meals are included.
